Howard Bragman, an expert in Hollywood public relations, Dies at 66
The renowned public relations manager Howard Bragman, who had a decades-long career in the field, has died at age 66. After a long battle with leukaemia, he passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 11. Follow for more information Viralstimes!!!!
Bragman had a reputation for assisting celebrities in times of crisis. Additionally, he was a vocal supporter of LGBT rights. He spent four decades in the public relations industry and co-founded the agency Bragman Nyman Cafarelli (BNC).
Mike Maimone, the boyfriend of Bragman, wrote a journal entry confirming his death. “It is with heavy hearts that we inform you that our beloved Howard passed away peacefully in his sleep at 8:50 p.m. on February 11, 2023,” he wrote. Howard was a constant in so many of our lives and the brightest star in his large group of friends and family,” Maimone continued.
Bragman’s close friend also conveyed the tragic news to the media, writing, “My dear old friend of 30 years has passed away tonight. RIP Howard Bragman, LGBT combatant Kind colossus. Irreverent wit. I will always love you.
Sarah Kate Ellis, president and chief executive officer of GLAAD, stated after the news broke stating, “Howard Bragman was an industry leader who mastered the use of the press to create positive change and visibility for LGBTQ people.”
Clientele of Bragman included Melissa Rivers, Cameron Diaz, Paula Abdul, Stevie Wonder, Joe Manganiello, Anna Kendrick, Sharon Osbourne, Monica Lewinsky, Terrence Howard, and Ricki Lake.
After he graduated from the University of Michigan in 1978, he started working for Burson Marsteller Public Relations. In 2001, Interpublic Group bought BNC, the company he started in 1989.He also taught public relations at the University of Southern California for five years as a part-time professor.
He established the Howard Bragman Coming Out Fund in 2021 as an LGBTQ rights activist. He announced the fund, “As a fat, Jewish, gay child from Flint, Michigan, I’ve always felt like an alien. “And I assure you, it occasionally hurts. There are, however, places where you can occasionally find relief. The Spectrum Center performed this function. Michigan did exactly this. Coming out is the most personal of journeys, and it is also the most difficult,” he continued.
