While issues and legal battles persisted regarding whether Jordan could remain on bail while seeking a new trial, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor had just the day before ordered the revocation of Jordan’s bail.
The 62-year-old pharmaceutical heiress admits smothering her son with a syringe full of drugs in a hotel room in 2010. She subsequently self-medicated with many pills before emailing a family member, who afterward called the police.
At her trial, Jordan said that she and her son, Jude Mirra, had resolved to take their own lives out of fear that one of her ex-husbands was plotting to have her killed and that without her, the kid would be left in the hands of her other ex-husband, who would s*xually abuse him. The two individuals she accused both disputed her accusations.
In November 2014, Jordan was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 18 years.
Norman Siegel, one of her attorneys, confirmed Jordan’s death, calling it “unbelievably terrible.” He also noted that appeals were still being processed and that Jordan “… had a lot still to contribute to society.”
Friday around 12:05 a.m., according to sources, Jordan’s body was discovered. A spokesman for the NYPD declined to elaborate, saying only that a death investigation was underway at the Brooklyn address.

Given that Jordan’s bail had been revoked and she was discovered dead in a bathtub with a note nearby, several authorities speculated that she may have committed suicide.
When Siegel spoke to his client hours earlier via phone, he reported that his customer sounded upbeat and optimistic.
