She was a great mother and grandmother who cared for her family.”

In 1985, Deborah Barak began working at CBS as a broadcast counsel in the law department for the West Coast. She worked in talent and production deal management and program licensing agreements in her many jobs over the years.
During her career, she helped The Late Show with David Letterman, Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, The Grammys, and the Country Music Awards get their licenses renewed. Barak was also known for bringing the idea of program ownership to CBS’s prime time.
As the popularity of streaming platforms grew, the executive oversaw the expansion of programming to CBS All Access. At the time, she also had a lucrative deal with Netflix that helped bring the Star Trek franchise back to life.
